Treasure of the Week: Vintage Stuart Weitzman floral heels

While I was moving and digging things up last week, I re-found these shoes. And after what feels like weeks upon weeks of rain and days where cashmere and fur may be more appropriate, this week we have finally been blessed with clear, sunny, beautiful weather. So, I thought, what a great week to share them – my brightly coloured vintage Stuart Weitzman floral heels.

From Paris with love

 I picked up these shoes 5 or 6 years ago, on a three week long trip to France with a girlfriend of mine. It was autumn and my first time to Paris – the city was absolutely stunning, everything that I had imagined it to be and more.

Being vintage obsessed as I am, every city that I go to, I try to look up a few vintage shops to visit. There were some beautiful vintage shops in Paris, but the shop where I eventually bought these was one that I stumbled onto by accident.

I can’t quite remember where it was, but I think it was in Le Marais, the historical district just across the river from Notre Dame Cathedral. Actually, it wasn’t really a vintage store, it was more of a cheap second hand shop, hustling and bustling with a ton of fashionable Parisienne youth. I dug around for quite a while before I found these vintage Stuart Weitzman floral heels (that’s part of the fun!), and as soon as I found them, I immediately bought them. I think they were maybe 5-10 Euros.

I googled to try and get an idea of the age of these shoes, not many results came back, but from the few that did, it seems like they are from an impressionistic collection in the 70s.

They are made from satin, with an extremely comfortable mid heel that is not very common these days (with new shoes I find myself buying either flats or stilettos). But the colours are what I love the most about these shoes – how often do you find a shoe with magenta, yellow, purple and green all together?

And since they are super comfortable, I have definitely given them a few twirls outside, mostly with some basic colours like black, white or grey. Hey, but you could totally go crazy and wear them with a magenta or yellow dress, or maybe even something multi-coloured. What do you think?
